Biting

Biting is common amongst toddlers and to parents, teeth marks often seem more alarming than a bruise would. Many children of this age, use biting to express anger, and parents should therefore defuse a situation before trouble occurs, by becoming aware of your child's behaviour in stressful situations. Don't overeact as excessive attention may just be what your child is seeking and he may just use these tactics in the future, to gain your full attention or get his own way. Never bite the child in return in an attempt to solve the problem, rather use this opportunity to teach him how to control his anger, and express himself verbally.
