Breathlessness and Fainting
-
During pregnancy, your growing baby causes the lung capacity to
lessen, by taking up space, thus causing breathlessness. If this
happens, it is a good idea to relax and breathe as deeply and as
slowly as you can.
Low blood pressure is fairly common in pregnancy and is due to the
increase in blood flow to the uterus and a decrease in the return of
blood from the lower part of the body. This often causes the
expectant mom to feel giddy or faint. Anaemia
could also be a cause of fainting, so it is important to have
your haemoglobin levels routinely tested.
