THE BIOLOGY OF BODY AND SOUL

From the desk of Richard Penfounde, your Naturally Healthy Lifestyle specialist.

There is a well documented history spanning at least 150 years of modern evidential science confirming the survivalist healing powers of body and soul when the former is under attack by a disease crisis. Some call it "nature healing", others "the holistic healing powers of the body" which are motivated into survivalist mode when the first signs of attack (the so-called disease crisis) manifests.

Indeed, so holistic is the body's application towards conducting survivalist healing that the actual name of a disease causing agent is almost irrelevant An example would be the so-called arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, or any other diagnosed inflammatory diseases given such names as lupis, sclero-derma, multiple sclerosis etc. might well stem from the same causes with the body's natural innate response being almost similar to all, that any name at this stage might be more intellectual than biological. In other words "cause" (eg Lack of nutritional status/immune system breakdown) could well be common to all.

Furthermore soul, spirit, or mind would almost certainly have had some previous degree of effect upon cause. The bottom line is that the body's own immune response is going to cure or not cure symptoms and to do so will mount a "healing attack".
Now a healing attack by the body's natural forces is only as good and effective as the body's overall health status and this depends upon-

  • The current level of nutritional wealth in each cell including the blood stream
  • The number of positive mind-thoughts exceeding negative ones
  • The foods (and thoughts) that are needed to change in order to help the body's immune system win
  • The ability to work with and promote the body's healing attack and not just the suppression of symptoms. The latter is like throwing the baby out with the bathwater - it does not heal cause nor does it solve cause
  • Finally, when cause is corrected the so-called disease state naturally treated, the patient will have learnt not to allow the same start-up mistakes again leaving the immune system in better shape than before.

This differs fundamentally from current allopathic methodology and so it should. Some fifty years after allopathic medicine has been in almost continuous practice, consumers are now faced with a health crisis that is more and more crippling as each year goes by. Reasons are:

  1. Your health budget and that of your family is seriously strained
  2. Your medical aid's budget is seriously strained and out of control
  3. Your doctor's budget is seriously strained to the point where doctors consider themselves underpaid and have recently resorted to "kick back" practices in order to correct their financial rights placing even more financial strain on you and your medical aid company
  4. Your Government's health budget is under considerable pressure
  5. Your company's medical aid budget is under serious pressure
  6. The drug company's product development budget for future drugs is seriously under pressure and has for the last five or six years seen prices rise almost 100% above the rate of inflation of all other goods and services

This crisis is not going away and is beginning to present an upcoming classical SOUTH SEA BUBBLE CRISIS and is pointing the way to an imminent change of emphasis towards personal responsibility for conducting and having the knowledge for instituting one's own healing and replacing repeated visits to one's doctor with prevention, prevention, prevention as the key strategy.

This web site is to present easily assimilated information to support self-teaching and knowledge based upon decades of evidential natural science. It will certainly present the least expensive investment the buyer will need to make in maintaining the integrity of their own health and it will certainly save many from dishing out hard earned capital later in life to support the growing numbers of hip replacements, triple bi-passes, organ transplants, spinal fusions etc. etc.

This new millennium offers a pertinent occasion on which to reflect upon our major asset - health. Looking back over a 50-year window, medical breakthroughs have been dramatic and have been headlined in the world's media in no mean way. Concurrent with each piece of news has been the delivery of ever mightier medicines, unsurpassed surgical procedures and, more recently, a genetic exercise which has again stunned everyone
Looking into the next 50-year window, there is a different appraisal. The picture being painted, and one that is almost exclusively initiated by consumers, is a somewhat more nurturing one involving a higher degree of personal responsibility and one that is in search of answers such as:

  •  "Why, with all this high-tech stuff, am I not always healthy?"
  •  "What are the main causes of my health breakdowns?"
  •  "What are my options beyond the mainstream orthodox treatments I have been accepting all these years?"

Along with these questions almost everyone is asking, the pace of life keeps rolling on at an ever accelerating speed - putting stress levels into overdrive and our wealth into a nosedive.

Mainstream medicine has arrived at a price cross-roads where consumers, governments and medical aid schemes are fighting inflationary costs often well beyond the levels of other products and services.

A simple result has been that the quick-fix scripts of yesterday are getting more and more alternative.

Contact with nature is playing a Brideshead Revisited role. Mother Nature is being seen as a nurturer and an enhancer to collapsing immune systems. From aromatic pleasures while walking through classical herbal plantations and the wondrous landscape gardens of such past masters as "Capability Brown" to the taking of the waters at the ancient spas of Europe and listening to rich healing chords from music long known for its therapeutic propensities, nature, in all its guises, is providing us with often forgotten experiences of joy.

Food, too, is seriously being taken into account as a causative health factor. Allergies once bombarded by high-tech medicinal pills are now being treated by dietary changes that work them out until the body's immune capability is back to par Yoga classes, orientation classes, Reiki, aromatherapy classes, reflexology classes, drumming, dancing, aerobics et al, are being sold today to enhance, restore and revive health. Antibiotics and drugs are being asked to take a back seat!

So what's ahead ?

It is astonishing how enzymes, metals and minerals are the least talked about health upgraders. Vitamins are the darlings of many new age doctors who can rattle them off like machine guns, yet minerals are the very foundation upon which vitamins rely for their biological activities There are plus or minus 74 minerals that our bodies need to be in full health. The majority are needed in very, very small doses - trace elements - but are nevertheless as essential as the big three, calcium, magnesium and potassium.

It is interesting that the causes of almost every major disease start off with a single or multiple mineral deficiency. The heart alone looks to some six minerals for its continued life. The lack of any one has serious implications which can eventually lead to a drug or two, and/or surgery

  • Calcium - when low, results in high blood cholesterol levels and a future possibility of atherosclerosis.
  • Magnesium - when low, can cause cardiac spasms.
  • Potassium - post-mortem studies of sudden deaths from heart attacks often reveal low potassium levels in the heart muscle.
  • Selenium - when deficient, can give rise to high blood pressure and increased coronary disease.
  • Chromium - plays a significant part in increasing the highly desirable HDL cholesterol levels.
  • Manganese - low concentrations are nearry always found in the heart tissue of those suffering from cardiac problems

Richard Penfounde recommends the Drugless Apothecary Megavitamin No 1 Pack that will provide a balanced supplement to make sure you live a “Naturally Healthy Lifestyle”.

How do I grow Herbs?
Herbs can be grown successfully in containers provided they have adequate drainage. Containers make it easy to group plants accordingly to how vigorously they grow and the type of care that they need.

Because they are portable herbs in containers can be moved into a convenient position outside the kitchen door when they are ready to use. Most herbs will thrive in containers that are at least 15cm deep. However fennel, which has a long root that needs deep soil, and bay trees, which are big when mature, are best in large containers such as a half barrel.         More ..
