Did you know ...
It is has often been stated that “you are what you eat”. And this is certainly a valid point – your appearance and general health are definitely dependent to a large degree on your diet. But what if you’re following a relatively healthy, balanced diet, yet still suffer health problems such as low energy, poor skin, headaches and foggy thinking? You may even be taking supplements yet have failed to notice any difference in your health. What steps can you then take?

It is has often been stated that “you are what you eat”.
And this is certainly a valid point – your appearance and general health are definitely dependent to a large degree on your diet. But what if you’re following a relatively healthy, balanced diet, yet still suffer health problems such as low energy, poor skin, headaches and foggy thinking? You may even be taking supplements yet have failed to notice any difference in your health. What steps can you then take?

Contrary to popular belief, you are NOT what you eat but, rather, what your body is able to effectively digest and absorb…

You might be following a balanced diet and taking supplements – but you may not be absorbing all the nutrients in your diet simply because your digestion is impaired. The sheer quantity of toxins, additives and pesticides in the food chain tend to clog up your digestive tract, creating a largely impenetrable coating, and the result is that the money you invest in a good diet and health supplements literally goes to waste!
Over the course of a lifetime no less than 100 tons of food pass through your digestive tract.

We spend our physical lives processing organic matter, extracting nutrients, building materials and fuel, and eliminating the rest. How good we are at this determines our energy level, longevity and state of body and mind. You are not what you eat – you literally become what you can digest and absorb.
But it seems digestive problems are the norm for most people. A survey undertaken by the Institute for Optimum Nutrition with 22,000 people found that 71% had sub-optimal digestion. The Institute also found that one in four often experienced indigestion, while one in two often experienced flatulence or bloating. Four in five didn’t have a bowel movement every day. These are classic signs that all is not quite as it should be in the area of digestion.

The immediate knock-on effects are often low energy, poor skin, headaches, foggy thinking and food allergies, leading to all sorts of aches and pains, from itches to arthritis. If poor digestion goes unchecked for too long it can even lead to irritable bowel syndrome, stomach bugs, candidiasis, ulcers, Crohn’s, colitis and diverticulitis, as well as chronic fatigue. The irony is that most of us seem to be worsening our health by the simple act of eating!

The good news is that you can achieve optimum health – and it starts with getting your digestive system into excellent shape:

  1. We recommend starting with a good cleansing formula, such as G&G’s GC70 .
Designed for the intestinal system, GC70 provides a natural hypoallergenic fibre. Fibre ensures a healthy bowel by promoting rapid transit through the intestines, and thus is a cleansing factor. Being indigestible, fibre tends to swell up and then pass through the system, having a 'bulldozer' effect.

GC70 also includes Psyllium Husks, combined with Vitamin C, Aloe Vera Concentrate, Kelp and a number of cleansing herbs. Furthermore, the macro-minerals help the electrolyte balance, important for the movement of fluids and minerals across cell membranes. GC70’s inclusion of substantial Psyllium and herbs achieves deeper, more stringent "cleansing". The macro-minerals are all in the citrate form, which experts say are more bioavailable.

The formula is completed with large amounts of Bioflavonoids and Lactobacillus acidophilus, to ensure a positive balance of friendly bacteria is maintained in the intestinal tract.
    GC70 is available from G&G at £13.25 for 100 capsules (2 weeks’ supply).Code: G0752.

  2. The next step is to supplement with an effective probiotic product, like Natren’s Healthy Trinity. This is a remarkable formula of probiotics (‘good’ bacteria essential for the health of the gastrointestinal tract), perfectly balanced with all 3 of the most potent super strains of beneficial bacteria. The great thing about the Healthy Trinity formula is that it is designed not only to enhance digestion (thus ensuring maximum absorption of the nutrients already present in your diet) – but it also works to combat ‘bad’ bacteria in your digestive tract.

In summary, Healthy Trinity:

  • Helps the body digest complex carbohydrates and proteins
  • Helps to increase the bio-availability of minerals, especially calcium
  • Is especially useful for lactose-intolerant individuals who may also experience a deficiency of dietary calcium

Healthy Trinity is available from G&G at £59.95 for 30 capsules (a month’s supply). Code: NP001
This week’s Special Offer is 10% Discount off all Natren products! Order before 9 th November 06 to take advantage of this offer before it expires!
