Did you know ...
New findings have revealed that chemically dependent, intensive modern farming methods do not produce good nutritious food. The trace minerals required by the body, in UK fruit and veg have fallen by 76% over the last 5 years.

Where has all the goodness gone?

It's true - food was better for us 60 years ago! Recent studies comparing government tables published in 1940 and in 2002 have shown the mineral content of milk and popular meats has dropped by up to 87% since the forties.

These new findings are totally in line with other research - chemically dependent, intensive modern farming methods do not produce good nutritious food. They are not designed to. Even the government admits it. Five years ago the Soil Association quoted figures from Dept. of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, showing trace minerals in UK fruit & veg had fallen by 76%.

Profit-driven modern farming produces lots of food that can be grown quickly and cheaply - and looks good on supermarket shelves. On the commercial farm, quantity now triumphs over quality, and many farmers' desperation to make a half-way decent living are pushed by their supermarket masters to produce high yields at low cost.

In the 1940s and 50s farmers produced nutritious, good tasting food by growing foods at a slower pace and harnessing nature rather than fighting it. It is claimed that farmers today have lost respect for the soil; they used to spread organic matter on it which restored essential minerals or trace elements. Now farmers work the soil harder than ever and think soil fertility can be put right by spreading a bag of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) on it. Last year research was published clearly demonstrating that organic milk is nutritionally better for you than ordinary milk. It has higher vitamin E & raised levels of beneficial fatty acids.

If someone offers to sell us a car dirt cheap, our first instinct is to ask what's wrong with it. But if a supermarket offers us cheap food we barely give a thought to the consequences.

We really are what we eat and if our food is nutritionally lacking, so are we. That's why so many thousands of people are turning to vitamin and mineral supplements to gain vital nutrition. Here at G&G, our best-selling product is Mega 2000, a high-strength, high-quality multi-vitamin and mineral with over 45 essential nutrients* in each capsule! It is important to have the correct balance of vitamins and minerals so that dietary deficiencies do not occur; every gland in the body is dependent on one or more in order to function.
