Dry, Irritated Skin The cause of itchy dry skin, during pregnancy is unknown, but it
could possibly be due to the growth of extra tissue or even the
change in hormones. Not only is there more blood circulating through
your body, but a larger amount of water is also being stored in the
cells. During the last months of pregnancy the skin under your breasts,
arms and between you legs may become irritated by a mild skin rash,
but strict hygiene should sort this problem out. If the rash worsens
however, contact your doctor or pharmacist before using any creams
that contain cortisone, or steroids for that matter.
