FLATULENCE
(Including Indigestion)

Too much gas in the digestive tract causing the stomach to protrude.
Common symptoms are frequent passing of wind and occasionally abdominal discomfort Particularly prevalent in infants and older people.

LIFESTYLE ATTENTION

  • Get professional advice on "food combining"
  • Consider MONO eating for a month or two.
  • Assess your food allergies.
  • Cut out bread - all types - and substitute with rice cakes. Reduce animal • product consumption.
  • Do not eat and drink at the same time.
  • Chew all food longer than you have been doing so in the past
  • Have gall-bladder checked out, and possible stomach ulcers.
  • Cook with ginger, juniper berries and cayenne pepper whenever possible.

  • Kali Sulphur - flatulence, wind, gas
  • Kali Mur - constipation
  • Nat Phos - acidity, gas with acid taste

  • Lycopodium - major flatulence and no desire to open bowels for days on end

  • Include as much garlic into food preparation as you can.
  • Increase vegetable, fruit and fibrous foods (salads) to some 80% of daily intake for next 2-3 months. The re-introduce other foods slowly.
  • Drink a blend of carrot and celery juice each morning on rising, combined with a tablespoon of whey powder and 1 dessertspoon of ground psyllium. Add 25% filtered or distilled water to mixture.

SPECIAL EXERCISE

  • Yoga classes
  • Stomach firming exercises daily. Brief walking.
