Eating off the Floor

Many a parent has fretted over the fact of her little one consuming every crumb or apparent edible item off the floor, and unless your floors are filthy dirty, there is little to be concerned about. All floors contain germs, but not in huge numbers, and not ones that your baby hasn't been exposed to before.

Outdoors though, you may just have to be that little bit more careful, when allowing your baby to return a dropped bottle or biscuit to his mouth, as there is a greater risk in picking up germs in areas where animals, and even some humans urinate and defecate. Replace, or carefully wash any toy, bottle or dummy that has fallen to the ground, especially if the area is damp, as bacteria multiplies rapidly on moist surfaces. So, to avoid having to make a choice between offering a screaming baby a dummy that isn't hygienically safe or doing without, always make sure to carry a selection on outings.
