WHO CHOOSES HRT / ERT?
Women whose friends report positive experiences with HRT and
recommend it highly are likely to request the therapy, as are women
who watched their mothers struggle with menopause-related symptoms.
As one French women said, "My mother had a painful menopause. I
didn't want the same thing to happen to me." In addition there has
been an "informaton boom" n the popular media regarding HRT; a woman
who has symptoms of oestrogen deficiency and reads in a magazine
that ERT can provide relief is motivated to seek therapy.
The research revealed that South American women often requested
ERT because they experience changes in libido and emotions; Chilean
women often requested ERT in order to maintain good physical
condition.
