HYPERTENSION
(Blood Pressure - High)

This occurs when there is an increase in the flow force of blood against the artery and heart walls.
Some regard the state of hypertension to be reached when a repeatable blood pressure reading (BP) of 150/90mm Hg. shows.

LIFESTYLE ATTENTION

  • Major contributors are:
    Caffeine, smoking, obesity, excessive alcohol, lead deposits in drinking-water, negative stress, heart condition.
  • A vegetarian diet has been shown in studies to significantly lower high BP to correct levels for ones age.
  • If BP raises it is best to take steps to reduce intake of animal fats (meat, eggs, butter, cheese, cream) salt and sugar immediately.
  • Increase intake of potassium foods (fish, freshly squeezed orange juice, bananas, potatoes, avocados, apricots, peaches).
  • Increase intake of calcium foods (goat's milk, raw milk, soya milk and their yoghurts and cheeses, sesame seeds, chick peas, broccoli).
  • Increase intake of magnesium foods (nuts, beans, peas, soyabeans, dark green, leafy vegetables, milks - as above, seafood).
  • Get your weight down to the correct level for your age.
