From the desk of Richard
Penfounde, your Naturally Healthy Lifestyle specialist. Winters seem to become more dramatic each year, especially from
a health point of view. New strains of flu and nasty viruses. This
may well increase contagious infections because the extremes from
summer to winter could be more dramatic than in recent previous
years. Here are some guidelines for helping you to get in control.
Basic rule: live cells can and do defend themselves. Dead cells on
the other hand are targets for bacterial infection. These conditions
lower resistance to infections and immune response must be increased
to fight.
Examples:
- Low blood pressure causes oxygen and food failure to cells and
many die of starvation.
- In a stale of anaemia too little oxygen is carried to cells and
many become asphyxiated
- When Vitamin C is deficient cells starve because blood spills into
tissues.
- When Vitamin A is deficient, millions of cells die on the outside
of the skin. Also the nails, eye covering, the mastoids, throat
sinuses. lungs. along the digestive tract, kidney, gallbladder,
urinary tract, bladder and vagina are also affected. As much as 182
mg of Vitamin A have been given in past treatments – before nasty
drugs - to cure some of these infections. (Don’t self medicate with
Vitamin A without consulting your doctor)
- When Vitamin A is supplied In generous amounts the supply of the
body's antibodies (fighters of bacteria and toxins), rises
dramatically.
Toxins are the by-product of digested dead cells by infectious
bacteria. These invading bacteria are armed with their own enzymes.
How often today do we hear of ever-increasing toxins in the human
body? Such foreigners do immense damage to our health both in the
short term and in the long term.
- Proteins - the end product of amino acids - are what antibodies
are made of. In fact antibodies are unlikely to be produced unless
we supply ourselves with sufficient protein foods or supplement with
basic amino acids.
- Infectious bacteria rob us of the B family of vitamins because
they actually feed off them. In any infectious attacks we must pay
attention to increasing B complex supplies. Beyond these basic
infections it is worth noting the following more complex conditions.
In cases of Arthritis
Arthritis can be induced in animals by injecting "bad" bacteria
when they are low in or lacking Vitamin C. What has been reported is
that at the point of entry of the needle injecting, these BAD
bacteria are expelled from that body. If the animal is deficient in
Vitamin C the bacteria don't get expelled. They simply enter the
body stream and eventually land up in the joints.
- Linus Pauling, famous architect of Vitamin C therapy for many
decades (recently deceased at age 93) knew a thing or two. His
accent on Vitamin C in arthritic cases underlines the warning that
at least half the story in preventing arthritis is to allow oneself
to be with Vitamin C. Linus Pauling was said to take a daily minimum
intake of 15 grams of Vitamin C and he was free of disease. This is
not to say you need this level.
- Some commentators, have pointed out that arthritis could not exist
without some infection somewhere in the body, actually supplying bad
bacteria. These parts include gums, tonsils, sinuses, gallbladder,
kidneys, bladder and prostate as probable sites
Dead or infected teeth should, they say be treated or removed if you
wish to prevent arthritis. (TRY a daily mouthwash of Tea Tree Oil).
Colon Infections:
- The undersupply of "friendly" bacteria such as Acidophilus and Bifido lost to our bodies due to a history of antibiotics, alcohol
consumption, stress and chemical overloads are often the cause of
problems such as constipation or diarrhoea Replace these little lost
"souls" via capsules or powders.
- Vitamin B's (particularly Niacin) deficiency is also responsible
for wrong goings on in our intestines. The first symptom of Niacin
deficiency is a coated tongue and halitosis. Then alternating
diarrhoea and constipation. A tablespoon of brewer's yeast produces
25 mg of Niacin and when things go wrong here 100 mg daily with each
meal can produce amazing results.
- And of course don’t neglect your Vitamin C levels here too !
