LIFESTYLE DISEASES

MIGRAINES

A throbbing, penetrating head pain often only on one side, and often accompanied by nauseasness. Sometimes vomiting and/or visual problems. Can be triggered by a remarkably wide range of causes -stress, anxiety, menstruation, anger, excitement, depression, shock, diet, the Pill, climate, food allergy, or agitated behaviour.

The duration of such pain is anything from 2 hours to 3 days.
Subconscious, negative emotions are often at the root cause - suppressed anger and guilt, being frequently responsible for such emotions.
Some 25% of the adult Western population have suffered migraine attacks at some time or other. 70% are women.

LIFESTYLE ATTENTION

  • Examine whether any of the following foods are causative triggers and drop them from diet: alcohol, cow's milk, eggs, chocolate, oranges, oats, orange juice, wheat, gluten, cheese, tomato, fish, chicken, beef, pork, soya, bacon, coffee, yeast, peanuts, cheese, tartrazine, benzoic acid, monosodium glutomate (MSG), bananas, apples.
  • Examine whether any of the following chemical preservatives are causative: benzoic acid, tartrazine, sulphur dioxide, monosodium glutomate (MSG), nitrates, chlorine, fluoride.
  • Eat meals more often (i.e. smaller portions) rather than less frequently (i.e. large portions).
  • Keep sugars, honey, fruit juices (including those claiming sugar free) and other hidden sugars in manufactured foods out of your diet, or at least, vastly reduced.
  • Reduce consumption of animal fats. Eat more fish.
