Pregnancy after Miscarriage

After several miscarriages, it may be difficult to believe that you are capable of seeing a pregnancy through to the end - it is possible, so don't give up trying!

You may however, want to wait a couple of months, to let old wounds heal, saving it for a time when both you and your partner are emotionally ready. Even though the previous miscarriage was probably through no fault of your own, this time you may want to be that extra bit more careful, by ridding your body of any harmful substances and following a correct eating pattern for a couple of months before trying to conceive. Unnecessary stress should also be avoided, so seek the support and love that is due to you from your partner and family.

Once a pregnancy is confirmed, it may be wise to withhold the information from outsiders, until you have passed the danger stage. On the other hand, many women find it easier to cope with the grief (should it occur), if family and friends are aware of her position.

There is no need to refrain from sexual intercourse, although it may offer peace of mind to abstain during early pregnancy, if you have suffered a previous miscarriage.
