Pregnancy Discomforts

Sinus

The sinuses are air-filled spaces, lined with mucous membrane, and during pregnancy these membranes have a much greater supply of blood, which may result in it becoming blocked. This softened, blood-filled lining is quite vulnerable and prone to bleeding, so be sure to blow your nose gently. If you suffer with the added disadvantage of flu, it may be wise to treat the condition, otherwise you may just have to tolerate and accept it as part of your pregnancy.

  • Avoid smoke-filled, confined spaces.
  • Apply a few drops of lavender and eucalyptus oil to a tissue, and inhale throughout the day.
